SAVE A MATE
-STRENGTH THROUGH MATESHIP-
Huge thanks to Stephen Finlay and whoever helped with the graphic design/ printing of these eye capturing posters! SO GOOD!
these beauties will be sent off to towns along the way in June.
everything is rolling on greatly for the first of many SAVE A MATE campaigns on suicide prevention.
stickers, check in the store if you'd like to grab yourself a sticker.
proceeds go directly into save a mate scooter ride.
save a mate is about human sustainability. No matter who you are or where you come from, we were all given the same gift at the beginning of it all and that was a chance to live a fulfilling life. For some tho, this is allot harder for them then for the rest of us.
Winter is setting in and its getting cold.
One could not even imagine how tough it would be to live on the streets. I have been working my day job more as a vampire with constant night shift. Throughout my job tho, i have noticed quiet a few homeless folk without a blanket.
last night i approached a bloke that most walked passed and asked him if he was cold. His reply was what i had already known it would be, and that was 'yes'. Today i am going to stop in at the op shop and buy some blankets that ill drop off to the guys ive seen during my shift.
its not hard for me to buy a blanket from the op shop and give someone else a nice sleep. That gesture of kindness could be all is needed to give someone a small grasp of hope in a somewhat lonely world. So come on guys! if i can organize a suicide prevention organisation/scooter ride and work constant night shifts. then you could be a mate too. Widen your eyes to what matters in life.
we are all people no matter where we come from, we are all together on this planet, we all can help. We all can save a mate.
at times it is going to be hard to post on saveamate.org on a regular basis until closer to our first main event the 2016 scooter ride as the founder, coordinator, sales manager, operations manager, maintenance manager, and the speaker still works a full time job (constant night shifts for the next 3 years). But that said its been an interesting few days.
currently save a mate has been hard at it contacting other like-minded organisations seeking partnership within them.
if we can work together on a common goal then there is no looking back.
but as always if this is not going to be viable then we will push on as we are going.
when times are getting you down.. turn that frown upside down and go skate it.
its great the amount of people viewing SAVE A MATE, if you would like to take a photo of yourself with a picture saying 'I CARE' then please do!!
you will be contributing to a great message!
the ICARE message will be played during workshops and also published online to show the world that no one is ever alone, but in fact there are people everywhere who care about others well beings.
please get your mates and work colleagues to participate!
The fundamental view of save a mate is being a mate to someone who needs one.
equip your travel bag with the essential gift of a mate and you will travel far greater then you thought.
It is weird that we as people are so afraid of being a mate to a stranger. But if we as people can embrace the common gift that we all were given from birth 'life' then we can help others enjoy the beauty of this world we have before us.
One time that always sticks in my mind is a dude from a Bargara surf shop who used to always tell me 'it doesn't cost to be kind'. and that is true... you being a mate to someone in need doesn't 'cost' you anything!... its a gift that is free of charge, so use it!
click on the donate and share if you can.
if you can help then you can contribute to a great cause.
A huge thanks to the awesome people who have donated.
please keep sharing if you can!
Also don't forget that if you would like to participate directly with the ICARE campaign then you can either selfie with a sign saying ICARE, or a short film saying i care.
that would be rad.
huge thanks to Stephen Finlay for being able to print these posters for free.
Save a mate is self funded so when people show their generosity and are nice like that, it makes life a whole lot easier!
WHO ARE WE?
